Plenty of faults never show a code at all. These guides work the same way a technician does: cheapest and most likely first, expensive and rare last.
Pick the symptom
- Washing machineWashing machine will not drainThe cycle stops with water still in the drum, the door stays locked, and the laundry is sitting in it.
- DishwasherDishwasher will not drainThe cycle ends and there is still water sitting in the bottom of the tub, often with a smell after a day or two.
- DishwasherDishwasher is not cleaning the dishesThe cycle runs normally, but plates come out with food still on them, or covered in a gritty white film.
- Washing machineWashing machine will not spinThe wash finishes but the laundry comes out soaking wet, either because the spin never started or because it gave up part way.
